I saw you today,
For the first time in months.
And I didn't wish I was with you,
Not even once.

Your smile was the same,
Big, beautiful, and bright
But something inside me,
Said it just wasn't right.

Your eyes were just like
The night we were together,
Something inside them saying,
We would be together forever.

But forever didn't last
After you walked out that door.
And now I don't need you,
Like I did before.
