Sour faces in the halls
Uncalled for prank calls
Eyes behind glasses seeing the same
Yet jocks push them down in shame
Powerful words used too often
All outer shells are forced to harden
Secrets sold for the price of popularity
Tall tales distorted with lack of clarity
Holding a smile can turn into quite a burden
Girls whisper like you haven’t heard them
Smoke wisps through overused lips
Dirty stares hit you like leather whips
No safe corner for you to turn
Tell us we’re all here to learn
The ones who have the time don’t try
Creating a twisted world that could make you cry
Knives in backs leaving visible scars
Pushing each others limits till they’ve gone too far
Adults shake their heads at each one
Tell us that it was harder when they were young
Call us spoiled and then call us fools
Heck, they ain’t never been to this high school…
