Dakotah's Sky

Spread your wings Dakotah,
And fly way up high
God has called, just for you
To take your place in the sky

And though we don’t quite understand
Why he took you so soon
We know you are safe
Among the stars and the moon

The sun shines, just for you
And the moon beams so bright
And the stars, how they twinkle
God lit the sky for you tonight

You drop the rain down upon us
To wash away our tears
And let us know you are okay
And without any fears

And when the day ends
And the sun begins to set
Sometimes we almost think
That we can see your silhouette

We know you are watching
And looking over us all
From the cold, snowy winters
To the colors of Fall

We smile because you were here
Instead of crying now that you're gone
But we hold your memory closer
With each brand new dawn

In memory of
Dakotah David Schumacher
