This Kind of Love

And her heart is in a cage
On display for the world
Overflowing in the hands
Of the same ugly girl
A love that breaks the bars
A pulse still seems to beat
Two lungs that won’t give out
And a fire still burns the heat
Divided by cold steel
Over an ocean of black eyes
Time will always heal
This period of disguise
She blankly stares at her opponent
In this game of tug of war
She doesn’t know how to pull it
But holds on stronger than before
A heart that mends the seams
A strength that won’t let go
Endurance just takes the pain
And passion that rips the rope
She’s shaking all over
Her emotions are drained
She’s holding herself
And all that she’s gained
To spite these harsh voices
She makes herself deaf
Ignoring all of the choices
And taking all that’s left
A will that can move the world
And a scream is waking the dead
A knowledge is keeping her here
That he believes in what she’s said
And her heart is in a cage
On display for the world
Overflowing in the hands
Of the same ugly girl
A love that breaks the bars
A pulse still seems to beat
Two lungs that won’t give out
And a fire still burns the heat
Torn apart and incomplete
They took love back, put on repeat
A love that will break bars
A pulse that always beats
Two lungs that can’t give out
And a fire that will burn the heat
