My Two Loves

I close my eyes
To escape to my dreams
I leave behind the lies
I know the world isn’t as mean as it seems

He’s holding my hand
And whispering in my ear
He’s saying he loves me and
Holding me so near

His sea-blue eyes shine
As bright as the sky
His now brown hair is fine
While my tears he dry

“She’s my girl.”
He’s whispering to me
“A walking talking angel baby”
How can this be?

I love you.
Do you hear?
Are you okay?
You’re fading my dear.

My eyes are opened
I’ve been shaken awake
I smile seeing my friend
My love he’ll take

These two will never know
What they mean to me
They’ll never know so
I’ll let them be
