Desert of Despair

All vague attempts of consumption
Leads to the bitter taste of ash.
As my tears convert to lonely dust
I lay in this desert
Searching for what is my true oasis
Off in the distance.

A most alluring mirage
Couldn't even send chills
As the sun poured over my porcelain skin.
I felt my breath escaping
As I lacked what I've searched for.
So here I lay in this desert;
Searching for peace...
My true oasis.
