Murder in Haiku

A mirror shatters.
Window, bed, breeze. Worried drapes
Hover over her.

Her deadened weight cries
A red, rose petal river.
Flows over white silk.

Standing there. His stares
Multiply malignantly.
In small panes of glass.

Tires scream. Sirens sing,
Flashing red and blue. Fire. Ice.
Heat inside grows cold.

Turn. Face the window.
Broken mirror. Broken man.
Falling to his knees.

Knife his body to
the spot where he has stabbed her.
His freedom bleeds dry.

She turns to marble.
The broken mirror shows him
Her death unending.
