Sing To Me

You’ve stepped onto the stage
Sweaty palms and nervous eyes
You didn’t think your adoring crowd
Would ever reach this size

You’re trembling, I can see it
Don’t worry, I’m watching you
No need to test my love like your mic’
There’s nothing I won’t help you through

Everyone’s cheering as you start to play
They’re screaming your full name
But I’ll scream it in so many other ways…
And that won’t change with fame

Baby, play your guitar like you do
When you’re sitting in your room alone
You’re lyrics are from your very heart
So scream them into the microphone

Don’t let that talent go to waste
The band will drown out your fear
You’ve made it this far so don’t you dare
Back down, right now, right here

You’re voice is shaky but no one minds
I don’t think they even realize
But don’t be afraid, I’m standing here
Just keep staring into my eyes

The worst part is what the song’s about
The fact you wrote about it blew me away
And I don’t mind, it’s just our story
So sing it to me today
