Standing and waiting,
watching the casket slide down the isle
The people I love clinging to the other for support
Following the procession of people
The tinkling sound of Amazing Grace washes over me
Tears stream down my face
My shattered thoughts fall to pieces hitting the ground
As I whispered my shaky goodbye
The tears of the falling
The death they are mourning
The ceremony continues
The faces fade away to wedding bells
The first experience was to be here
The happiness and joy,
Wiped away with the pain and sorrow
The tears still fall with the rapid beat of my heart
As the life of the dead is told to all
The tears of the falling
The death they are mourning
The procession starts
Like marionettes we stand as one
The people walk by, their eyes hollow
The casket rolls by with a last whispered goodbye
Wanting to run, to scream, to die
My heart racing as the tears still run
The anguished silent pleas filling the silence
Echoing throughout the cathedral
We all leave in orderly rows
As the silent goodbyes fade away
The tears of the falling
The death they are mourning
I take my stand
And walk away
As the prints of the past slowly fade away
