Sorry, I Feel Nothing

I’m looking straight into your eyes
And finally I feel like I can say this
No.
I don’t want that smile you give me
I don’t need your broken promises
Your words no longer hold me by a chain
I won’t stay up waiting, wondering where you are
And do you know why?
I’m not over you, guess again.
I’ve just accepted that I can live without you
Breath without you, inhale, exhale.
If I walk away you can stare at my back
Just like the many times I stared at yours
I don’t have to worry about a knife coming
Stab, Stab, not anymore.
Because it won’t hurt me like it use to
So tell me you love me, I won’t say it back
Try to kiss me, I’ll turn my cheek
It’s taken a while, but it’s worth it
Ask me if I feel something still
Go on, ask me
Because it’s my turn to say
“Sorry, I don’t”
