I found myself doodling on the desk.
Sure enough, it was a picture of you.
I was in a wonderful, happy mood,
Until these thoughts passed through...

"First of all, flat out, I love you.
I just can't help it.
I've tried to fight it, but it's
all no good. I still love
you. I've loved you since I've
really known you. I
love everything about you. Your
smile. Your laugh.
Your sweet acts of kindness. Even
when you hurt
me, I still love you. Through it
all."

If I could really tell you how I feel,
It probably wouldn't come out the right way.
But, if by some chance it did,
Here is what I would say...

I'd start with the little things first,
Because some times they count the most.
So, I hope that you do not mind
That I'm going to brag and boast

The first thing is your pretty eyes.
I know you've heard it a million times before,
But they are truly beyond beautiful.
I thought you should here that once more.

Don't get me started with your smile,
I could go on for at least a day.
It makes you totally irresistible,
Especially when you smile in that cute little way.

That smile of your deserves a second verse,
So yes, here I go, yet again...
Your smile is soft, warm and bright,
It surely brings all of the light in.

Now I have to jump ahead a bit.
I have to reach the point before I REALLY stray away
Plain and simple, I love you.
I love you every night and day.

That's all there is to it.
There's no more and no less.
Except that I am giving up,
Because I've tried my very best.

So, I erased your eyes from the picture.
Otherwise, I would get lost in a stare.
But now I'm completely safe,
Because your eyes are no longer there.

Next I erased your smile.
You know, the one that lights up the room.
As cute as your smile may be
It would have brought certain doom.

All that was left was an empty face,
That's ALL that did remain.
But then I erased that too
So there wasn't the slightest chance of any more pain

But it all still comes down to this:
I can erase a picture because that's not real
But I can't erase the fact that I love you
Because that's just the way I feel.
