Honey, Save The Postage

He left that day with only
A note on the fridge door
That and the scent of cologne
Still clinging to the floor
Although I saw it coming far ahead
I felt his body lift from the bed
Something kept me hoping he wouldn’t
I wanted to stop him but I couldn’t
It’s like watching a movie
When you already know the ending
You try to ignore the shivers
That the next scene will be sending
But no knowledge could’ve prepared me for
This notes words in the darkest black
‘Honey, save the postage,
I won’t be writing back.’
