I'll follow you,
Lose my faith within
the lines of your face
and fail you again.
I swear it was simple.
It was plain enough to see,
Like a catastrophe
You loved me.
I feel like skin and bones
While breathing in the smoke
Second-hand from the cigarette
You shove down your throat.
I wanted you to be there,
But I guess you were busy,
Writing what we'll never say
With our voices truthfully.
But I'll forgive you - again
I'll trace the lines in your face
and forget. I'll turn my head
the other way, for your sake.
I'll dutifully hold you up,
(when you want me to)
and breathe in your toxins
just to be near you.
And I'll let you fall hard
And empty without love
So you could keep your heart safe
With sex and drugs.
