Maybe (Realize)

Corruption is flowing curiously
Below my feet
And begging for mercy.
I walk barefoot away from this pain
To try and forget
How I felt
And what I wish to regret.

I never thought that this thought
Would repeat itself
Hoping this vague dream
Was simply a lie
I know that I am a coward
Unwilling to accept
The only truth I have
Ever come to realize.

I will close my eyes
One more time
To see how far my
My tears are willing to go
In order to prove how I feel
In an instance of pain
And realization.

Maybe you never cared.
So close your eyes with me.
Maybe you will see what I do.
This corruption
And fear
Of what could be.
Maybe you will realize
As I did.
