Like the words he left me craving
Like the touch he left me missing
Like the broken promises that left me raving
Like the cold lips he isn't kissing

Sunshine
Like the smile I loved to trace
Like the curtains opening so I can see
Like the time we always had to race
Like the feelings when he was with me

Sparkle
Like the light once held in his eyes
Like the broken heart he holds
Like the stars as they said their goodbyes
Like the letter he still refolds

Slipping
Like the sanity I thought he gave me
Like my feet on the ledge he pushed me to
Like everything we were going to be
Like the way he whispered, "I love you."

Soft
Like the way his skin felt to my cheek
Like how good things always seem
Like the way his eyes always left me weak
Like the pain of waking up from this dream
