Burning Down This House

Walked up to the welcome mat
Not as welcoming as you seem
Because the minute you stepped through that door
You broke apart all of our dreams

This house built up as our friendship
With walls, a roof, and more
This house is the same thing that you
Burnt vigorously and then tore

I trusted you as a friend
Not to play with the matches
I thought we could cover our fights
With small, invisible patches

But you decided to break it all
You made yourself a little fire
Stood there and let it burn
As the flames got so much higher

Our friendship was singed
No more trusty roof to rely on
But there was still that strong foundation
That was there when we begun

So if you want it, pick up the hammer
You’re going to have to work to have me again
Because I’m tired of building on burning flames
When you don’t even act like my friend

-Chrissy, it's up to you
