Love At It's Best

Covered simply by the stars
I become enveloped by you.
Far from bitter
It seemed everlasting
As you caressed my face,
"Are you OK?"
Your soft frame asked
In gentle tones and aspects.
I nodded for words
Were lost when the act began.

Courageous it seems
But, hollow still
I see my faded photographs
Burning away
And tears invisible
As you touched my face again.
I never want to leave this moment.
It replays constantly
Under the stars
Feeling the wind whisper
And condoning this love.

A night of passion
And intrigue
That will haunt
And gather my empty
Thoughts
Only to conjoin this feeling
Between our bodies
And our hearts.
