Losing You

I remember what we had,
our friendship was so true.
I'm lucky to have known a kid
so hard to say goodbye to.

We were there for each other;
When we laughed and when we cried.
Loneliness was brief;
You were always by my side.

You constantly knew what to do.
You were always sweet and shared.
When you asked how I was
I knew you truly cared.

So when I heard the news,
I felt indescribable pain.
It seemed like everyday gone by
was full of gray and rain.

I looked into the mirror,
and saw a face with no name.
I'd seen this face before,
Still it didn't look the same.
As beautiful as she was,
No beauty could I see.
The mirror wasn't broken,
but her heart seemed to be.

I admit that moving on,
is harder than it seems.
I laugh and smile only because,
I see you in my dreams.

So to you I say,
"Friends till the end is what we'll be.
Someday we'll be together again,
Together you and me."
