I remember when I use to be whole,
Love was something I didn't know.
When it came to boys I never knew a tear,
Until you destroyed the barriers I built through the years.
You were kind, gentle, and sweet,
From The First glance you swept me off my feet.
I snuck out just to be in your arms,
That's the only place I feel safe from harm.
Innocence to you I would gladly give,
Because you showed me what it's like to really live.
Instead of taking something I dearly treasured,
You held me for time that can't be measured.
One look into your eyes and I knew,
There was no way my heart would get over you.
But timing is short and fate is cruel,
Leaving was something you had to do.
I was left with a twinkle in my eye,
And in my heart I wanted to cry.
Never before have I missed something so much,
Kept awake at night longing for your touch.
My heart is heavy and full of sorrow,
Without you I no longer look forward to tomorrow.
I would give anything to see you one more time,
I need the feeling back that once was mine.
But I'm happy to be yours even for a little while,
With our memories comes a smile.
To my heart you'll forever hold the key,
Because your the holder of my missing piece.
