Tattered Heart

My heart torn and broken,
Has been shattered and split among six different people,
Most have abused it,
And most have used it against me.

And though I fear that you own the smallest piece,
I hope you won't be like those others,
Deep down I know you won't be like the others,
I have a strange trust in you.

I hope the piece you have will serve you well,
Even small things tend to have advantages,
I hope this piece will combine with your love,
And regenerate itself into a whole again.

When it's whole come and find me,
I'll hug you and take my new heart back,
Clear my chest of the dust and cobwebs,
Hook up each artery and ventricle,
My heart beat starting with our first kiss.
