So Naive

I lied when I told you I felt no pain
It hurt like hell to watch us go down the drain
I put everything I had into you and me
And it hurts more than I'll ever let you see
Go ahead and tell yourself we're better off this way
It's easy to think;impossible to role play
I still think about you every now and then
And I just smile remembering way back when
Sixteen and so naive
Being in love is what you made me believe
We were young and inseparable
I gave you my heart in complete trust
Believing we had something more than lust
I don't say this regretfully but I was wrong
We were bonded but fate was strong
Before I'm done promise me that we weren't fake
Swear to me that I didn't cry for a heartbreak's sake
