A Low Blow

Take a deep breath,
Close your eyes-
Feel the racing against your chest.
Let your body fall heavy to your feet.

Tighten your eyelids' grip,
Leave your hand dangling free.
For he's just about to hit you and me.
So prepare.
Be aware.

Know this soul is out there too,
But realize in his eyes,
He knows no better.
Stay away.
Don't call.

Leave him with his sadness
And regret,
Tell him to
Kiss your ass.

Breathe.
Open your eyes.
Hear your heart beating steadily.
Feel your feet light for once.
Body unburdened.

Breathe.
Let him go.
Exhale.
Don't suck him back in.
Let it go.
