The war makes children grow up too fast.
18 years is barely a beginning!
Not even a fifth of our life's course run,
Yet we are expected to face up to guns?

Those who are afraid called 'cowards'.
'Men' are the ones who risk their lives,
Ignoring their god-given instincts to flee.
Neglecting their callings, to 'be the best they can be'.

What of those who are scared to death,
By the idea of being alone, or wounded, or forgotten, or killed?
Who's 'best' is not on the battle-field?
They are driven insane, and sent of to be 'healed'.

The war is wasteful, of lives, of minds,
how many geniuses has it driven mad?
The war treats all children the same.
But 'Men' are Individuals.
