Walk Away

I watched you walk away
From me and from your life
I watched you walk away
From your friends and family
I watched you shut down
Emotionally and mentally
I watched you shut down
All your senses except for pain

I watched you as you
Isolated yourself in every
Way possible.
I watched you as you turned everyone
Away, not wanting to me messed with.

I watched you walk away from me
And noticed the irony.
I watched you walk away from me
Right after I told you how.

I’m the one who taught you,
How to shut people out
How to block yourself from everyone around
How to erase the pain from your face
And only have it for you to know.

I’m the one who thought it would help.
Instead it made you more alone
And me more untrusting.

when you shut down, you lost your ability to lie
You told my secrets
For everyone to know
You told my secrets,
And now I have no where to go.

I thought I could trust you,
I thought I could help you.

I watched you walk away
From me and from your life
I watched you walk away
From all the heartache and all the pain.

I watched you walk away,
After I told you how.
