He thought he could walk away
From the body on the floor
The truth is that
The body couldn't
Walk away from him

Screams
Screeches
Wails and nails clawing
At the pores of his flesh
Her voice rang through his head
Making needles twist and turn
Into his brain, slashing his soul
Echoing to leave an aftertaste

A shiver of pain surged through him
A river of fiery ripples flowing through
Feeling like he was bleeding life
And absorbing death

She was burning the rest of him
He was drowning in the rest of her

Mind inching closer to explosion
As images and sounds flooded
He couldn't breathe

Blind and deaf to the world
Yet within the walls of his mind
He heard and saw so much
All at once

But a smart man would
Be grateful for the pain

Because once silence conquers
Once you can
Hear things clearly,
See things clearly,
When the body is hollow
That only means that

She's found you
