Beautiful boy, youth of the nation
He was scared to go forward
Yet tired of being patient
No acknowledgment, no praise nor pride
He shut himself in his room
And played his music to hide
He cried black tears, bled crimson blood
Waited in the dark
To receive someones love.
A small note was left
Describing his pain
People found it eventually
And felt their guilt sink in, felt the shame.
His soul flew to heaven, his body buried deep
I can't believe his gone now
Gone for eternity's sleep
Beautiful boy, youth of the nation
I wish you had waited
I wish you were patient
I miss you
I cry at night
Hoping you'll come back
And stop my plight
I want you back home
Even though it seemed nobody cared
I know you felt so alone
But it was a life we could have shared.
You promised me freedom
I promised you the same
I guess you have it now
In a world above the rain
Beautiful boy, youth of the nation
I wish you had waited
I wish you were patient.
