I Think We Need to Talk

This is your gaurdian angel
And I think we need to talk.
I saw you kill that girl
While driving around the block.

I don't know what you were thinking
When you got in that car.
You had one drink too many.
This time you went too far.

You were always such a good person,
I don't know what went wrong.
But all it takes is one bad choice
For someone's future to be gone.

She never saw it coming,
Even though she looked both ways.
She never would have guessed
That night was the end of her days.

There was pain in her final moments
But then I came to take it all away.
Now she does't hurt anymore;
In heaven she'll forever stay.

You may not have meant to kill her,
But it's murder just the same.
That little girl is still dead
And you're the one to blame.

You went to the funeral
And saw her parents cry.
Time wont make things better.
Their little girl had to die.

Sitting in your jail cell,
Thinking back on what you did
Would you have made things better?
Would you have hit the kid?

Do you understand now,
Not to drink and drive?
Do you know that if you were sober
Your sister would still be alive?
