She Screams

Eyes shut tight, she screams out her pain
She screams out her sorrow, her agony, her shame

Each of her screams is for a tear that she's shed
As all of the world's problems dance in her head

Her every cry echos out like a sad, mournful song
As she screams out insecurites that she'll never belong

She screams over the lump that rests in her throat
Using every loud cry to help her to cope

She screams for the mother that she lost long ago
She screams for her tears that don't always show

She screams for the hidden tears that have flown from her eyes
She screams for the all the years she's worn a disguise

She screams for her friends who are dealing with stress
She screams for those who are trying their best

She screams for lies that she had been told
She screams for misconceptions others may hold

She screams for humanity and the path that it's on
She screams for the people who are told to stay strong

She screams for the sons who have died in the war
She screams for the mothers who live on her shore

She screams for things that have long been forgotten
She screams for hearts that have long since been rotten

She screams for innocence that has forever been lost
She screams about maturity and the price that it costs

Mainly, she screams for her own broken heart
She screams about words that have torn her apart

She screams as the blood slides down her arm
She screams because she's caused herself harm

Her last final scream is for words left unsaid
And regrets not shouting them as she lays down her head

She screams out her last living breath
And finally is silent as she lays down to rest
