What once stood as my anchor of stability,
slowly but suddenly,
drifts down a stream.
The current carries you,
with such pace..I can barely see you
from this distance.
My legs too numb to guide me
in your direction,
my voice too far gone
to shout of my love for you.
It remains with me, haunting me,
enabling me to somehow capture
an emotion so strong.
Overbearing as it may,
seeping into my veins as though
I needed it to live.
My body remains frozen to this ground,
while my heart resides with you-
You have the choice to do whatever you wish
with it,
and right now,
by the piercing sensations
and the uncomfortable numbness,
I'm predicting you have chosen a blade
to be the final tie
of this mortal heart.
