Him

He has a tough exterior,
Showcasing tattoos of love and hate,
Many scars from mental and physical battles,
But his eyes look to me kindly.

His inside holds something more,
People have never seen it,
He was kind enough to let me inside his life,
This gentle nature withheld in an ex troubled teen.

He saw me in the halls and thought of me once or twice,
I was just a student in the same school until he wanted to know me more,
I heard he was crazy but rumors are mostly never right so I made no
judgments,
I know he never regretted making that first move to talk to me.

From the first day we met I thought he was annoying,
From the first day we met he couldn’t look away from me,
We grew on each other fast,
One made up for what the other lacked.

Then the words on our minds were exchanged,
We knew it was love,
The first kiss,
And with that we were together.

In public now you see him there,
Holding the hand of an innocent looking girl,
Showing great affection,
Giving up everything and protecting her all the while.
