Behind this smile,
Is everything you will never know,
You may not see the tears she cries,
But if you waited a minute,
Took the time and looked properly,
You would see the look in her eyes

When no one else is looking,
The mask she wears flickers,
And disapears for a second,
Just a second,
Crying out for someone to notice,
For someone to help her

Even if you did take the time,
It would take a miracle,
You could ask her a thousand times,
But she will always answer "i'm fine",
Until she's alone,
Then she cries her eyes out in silence

She wants nothing more than to talk,
Someone to comfort her and tell her,
Everything will be okay,
But she can't let her guard down,
She's never known someone she can trust,
Someone she can reveal everything to

All her life she's waited,
Alway's been quiet, never attention seeking,
Just hoping someone will notice her,
Take the time to get to know her,
And be the most true friend she's ever had
But she waits forever

And now she doesn't know,
If she can ever feel good about her life,
If she can ever trust anyone,
It's been so long and now she feels numb,
Life just passing her by,
Meaningless and lonely
