The Day We Cried

It was the time of night quiet, silent
Thinking nothing was going to go wrong
But then ring the call of all calls
Then it happened
Your dad died fighting the good fight
All you and your family can do is cry
The tears struck out lips
The taste of death, fear, unhappiness
Hearing you mother, brother, and new born sister
Cry, cry till their tears turned solid
All you can do is pray
Asking the lord for this last and dying favor
To let out dad and our family become one again.
