She built her life
of twenty-five years
In a loveless marriage
Em brassed with tears

Quietly, she sits, and asks herself this
"What happened to those golden years"?

And she fears,
Icy glares
Swollen fists
Shattered dreams
Emptiness
Held captive to her menace

Most of all, she knows
Sometimes this is what life throws
And someday she might even feel
Like leaving this hell.
