Without a warning
it comes to play
to tear your
nervous system away.

In bulging cans
it makes its home,
but in boiling water
it dies alone.

You may get a stutter
or lose all your words
or end up unable to swallow;
this germ is absurd!

But if you're not careful,
you too could die
and leave all your loved ones
left there to cry.

From low-acid foods,
you could see double,
and some processed meats
are sure to bring trouble.

Dented cans
are also a no
if there near the top
a bulge starts to show.

Your respiration
could begin to cease
if you do not watch
what your family eats!

This toxin is deadly
and rare for its kind,
but you could end up unable
to be saved just in time.
