the summer breeze sends a chill down my back.
dirt collects on my shoes eachtime i kick it.
just you and me and i don't know how to act.
the moon beams and your face shines as if lit.
if it were said, neither of us would believe it.
give up, give up says the voice in my head.
my dry lips crack with every lick.
the swings squeak, but nothing has been said.
i hope this is worth the time.
the smoke from your cigarette burns my eyes.
the crickets sing as they watch us.
i bite my nails and hope there won't be any goodbyes.
you grab my hand, conforts like it always does.
i try my best not to stare at you.
the twigs break with our every step.
we walk and wait for the cue.
i speak, but seems like there's nothing left.
the pavement makes a soft patting sound.
i can feel you slipping out of my hand
my eys water, and the silence never rang so loud
lips quivering, you're fragile and i understand...i understand.
