Against The Wall

I am but a blade of grass beneath the snow,
cold and cramped with no room to grow.
This place is caving in on me,
burying my dreams beneath the debris.
leave me out in the cold with no where to go.
The ground opens up
swallows everything i hoped I'd be.
this monster inside devours me...
and echoes all my fears.
I've got my back against the wall..
swinging fists at something that doesn't exist.
Tears swell up in my eyes...
with every one that streams down my cheek
goes my hope of escape.
Tell me how this book ends...
tell me it's not in this town.
And tell me there's something there to break my fall.
tell me this wasn't all for nothing.
