At sight of your face
My heart scales my throat
Strangling my tongue
To threaten my quotes

While I bite my lips,
My heart changes shape
And bleeds out my eyes
To force its escape

And after too long
Of fighting to leave
My heart surrenders;
Finally retreats

It sinks down slowly,
Swallowed with my pride,
Rests in my stomach
Where it now resides
