Its pre game now
He's in coach's drill
coach throws him the ball and says hes lacking the skill
he wonders if hes gonna play
then he drops the pass
coach yells and screams, "you fucking fat ass!"
he says, "sorry sir, i tried my best"
coach replies, "well thats not good enough, go sit with the rest"
but the rest get to play
he sits there alone
his team mate comes up and says, "get in the zone"
but it doesn't help, he knows he screwed up
so he sucks down on water in a fucking Gatorade cup

someone shouts his name
its the girl he likes
shes sitting in the crowd
she tells him its ok
and shes very proud
he cracks a smile
but it doesn't last long
his former best friend
brought her along

They win it all
but he did nothing to help
the team celebrates
he keeps his gear on and waits
coach says they played a great game
he congratulates everyone
but leaves out his name

He walks off the field
head looking down
his dads in the stands glaring with a frown
a disappointment he is
to everyone he knows
but it's Coach's Call, and what he says goes
