Life has lost its meaning
those dear to me have disappeared
Feelings of bitterness cloud my soul
Where are you now that need is present
Why have you abandon my side
Protection I now desire is comforted by the hate I carry within
Thoughts of evening laughter and nightly romance
Causes my eyes to water
I can’t stand the thought of you
But it is the only thing that makes me smile
Falling asleep on miseries pillow and awakening in the arms of emptiness
Discussing my problems with someone who is not there
Preparing dinner for someone who shall never show up
Often I dial your number to hear the sound of your voice
But revulsion hangs up before I get a chance
The sight of you forces my stomach to reject
But I can’t go a day without looking at your photo
Memories of you pierce me like arrows
But without them I shall depart this life
