Sunrise Comes

I hear the sunset come
Like daffodils pushing through the earth.
Sweet scents of new life bursting.
Leaving the safety of the freshly turned soil.
Reaching for the sky.

I lie in your arms
And beg for a reprieve.
Close my eyes and ignore, the shiver
from eager fingers caressing cocoa black skin.
Praying for a reprieve.

Sugar coated nightmares tingling
Sickly in it's greedy ravage through
The lovers mind. It'll end soon.
Ignore it, it'll go away.
Pretend you are the daffodil, awaiting new things.

Sunrise Comes.
Time is running out. Deep brown eyes expressive
In their pain stricken knowledge.
Time waits for no-one. Not even Love.
Sunrise comes.

Rising from the love sodden sheets.
Scents of a night so full of passion.
It should never end but still it must.
Sunrise comes and takes your love away.
Dry your tears, save them for later.
For tomorrow, sunrise will come again.
