The sonnet of Anticipation

You feel it
Like the raindrops tap-dancing on your skin
Giggling like school girls with a crush
On the English teacher

Your stomach butterflies,
fluttering as during the summer mating dance
swirling in search of the one true love
with whom life shall be made.

Father Time ticks away, slowly like
the ancient decrepit fool you wish was young again
Oh, what you would give for Time to be young again
So it may fly past you as Pegasus through the gods fearing sky

You wait.
And wait some more.
For that moment.
That will last you a lifetime.
