my quiet dreams unfolded
as your song began its life
I sit here –
transfixed in the light of your music,
lost in the liquid voice of your eyes,
powerless in the magic of your words

Gently, ever so gently,
swirling colors close upon my mind;
ethereal mists shroud in soft embrace;
Wraiths of forgotten worlds and dreams
enchant me into some untamed, misremembered place

Deftly, smoothly
warmer than the surrounding stillness;
deeper than the voids between the stars,
your song reaches through the silent stretches of my soul,
Past all thoughts of right and wrong,
Blending music and memory into one intoxicating bliss

With every note, with every verse,
every rising crescendo, relentless and unforgiving,
I am swept in helpless abandon;
And I succumb completely, blindly,
No backward glances,
no second thoughts

Behold now the moment of my greatest weakness,
As I finally give in to your unrelenting madness;
With eyes closed and minds shut,
Let us, you and I
die with each kiss,
suffer in each embrace,
cry behind each smile,
laugh behind each tear
