Do you remember,
When we were children,
My little brother?
We were never apart...
We would spend every waking minute together.
I would wake you up,
or vise versa,
and we would do something different every day.
We used to climb in the trees,
And just swing in the branches all day,
And you would shake the flower petals down from the branches,
...Just so I could dance in them...
And then we would sit together,
And watch the sky turn pink to red,
in the late, hot summer.
We would hike in the woods
till we reached the peace sign rock.
And we would sit at the top,
Over looking the city,
and talk about running away from it all…
how we had a plan...
That no matter what,
We would be together.
And do you remember,
My little bro bro,
When we would go sledding,
In the cold winter,
Over on the hill
in the field
across from our house...
And it had that perfect bump,
To give you enough lift...
And we spent all day on that hill.
Till you got cold,
Little bro bro,
And we would go home.
And do you remember,
How we used to go out,
On a cold, Halloween night,
Dressed in outfits that always seemed to go together...
And I would hold your hand,
as we walked through the dark streets,
with our pumpkin buckets,
filled with more candy
then we could finish for the next few months.
And do you remember,
When we walked home from school,
And we would meet at the corner.
...And the one day,
Some kid hit you,
and I went to go beat him up for you.
Cause that is my job,
As an older sister.
I was so angry,
Cause they hurt you...
But you just wanted to go home.
But I was always standing up for you,
Against anyone who dared mess with you...
As you did the same with me,
Despite the fact that you were so small.
Do you remember,
When you were smaller than me,
My little bunny bro bro?
And do you remember,
Little brother,
When you used to be scared of thunderstorms,
And you would sneak into my room at night,
And we would cuddle together.
And sometimes,
Neither of us could sleep,
Even on calm nights,
And we would talk together all night...
Sometimes about the important things.
About where we would go with our lives,
About how we want so much more than this,
And how,
No matter what,
We would always be together...
We promised.
Do you remember,
My little brother?
We promised...
We would always be together...
...Always.
