Let Yourself Go

When love starts to hurt
That’s when you know
To say your good byes
Because it’s time to go

The memories will fade
And time will heal the pain
Soon there will be sun
Just wait until after the rain

When he stops making you smile
That’s when you know
To dry up your tears
Because it’s time to let go

You know you deserve better
Because you gave him your all
But he stopped holding you
And started letting you fall

Love isn’t one-sided
And that’s how you know
That it never could have lasted
So why won’t he let you go?

You beg him for mercy
Because to you, it’s not a game
You’re love has fallen apart
And he is the one to blame

He says he still loves you
But now, these are just words
You ask him to stop saying them
Because they stab your heart like swords

He says it all the time
It’s just showing it, he can’t do
And that’s how you know
That it’s time to become two

When he’s breaking your heart
But you love him anyway
That’s how you know
That it’s too late to stay

Just let yourself go
You’re heart needs to mend
And though it’s telling you ‘no’
It will thank you in the end

When you can see through his lies
But try to trust him anyway
That’s how you know
That it’s time to walk away

It’s not going to be easy
And it will hurt like hell
And you’ll probably cry
Or maybe even yell

But your head knows that it’s right
Though your heart may not yet see
That you need to do this for yourself
Because you two weren’t meant to be

**note...if you read my poem "how do you know" then this one will
make a little more sense...thanks and take care...
