Unrequited love

Her eyes are stained with soulful tears
Her cheeks are streamed with feeling,
Her lips have tasted so many drops
but not one of them are healing.
Her ears have heard so many words
the sound of love filled her mind,
her fingers have caressed soft firm skin
but she cannot return past time.
Her heart is broken into tiny pieces
wanting to break free from this pain,
Her body tinged with unrequited love
she will never love like this again.
Her lungs have felt their last breath
the rope around her neck carves deep,
for her endless tears are still flowing
but it’s blood that she does weep.
