we pass each other in the hall..

We pass each other in the hall
and you advert your gaze to something more interesting
than the face you used to kiss;
the body you used to touch;
the eyes that once held your attention
for sometimes hours at a time.
your arm casually brushes mine
and my breath is cut short
just like it use to
when you ran your hands up my stomach;
when you slid your fingers down my spine;
when you held my shaking body against your still skin.
I smile.
Not because it's over
but because I got to be with my best friend
in ways I didn't think were possible.
you're incredible,
and the best thing that happened in a long time.
...I miss you so bad it hurts.
