I look upon the sunset
A fiery ribbon sewn carelessly
against the advancing night

I extend my hand
to touch the majesty
running fingers along the boarder of yesterday
as the twilight fades to a quiet shadow
the tender breeze of evening
dances around me
like a restless antique dream
reminding me of nights
when I dreamed of only you
In the sunset I could see your essence
In the breeze, your tender soul
and I’d wait for night
to show his misty lights
so I could count the ways
I loved you
until sight of the fiery ribbon
transpired on the boarder
of dawn
