I wasn't good enough

With your cheek in my hand
Caressing you so
As you’d laugh with a grin
Only you to know
The inside joke
Between the glare
Of glossy eyes
Takes one to know one,
He said. She said.
Silence pierced oblivion
Waters ran shallow
Too headstrong
Beside his Shadow
Sewn mouths
And pinned eyes
Muffled voices
Conversations tied
Takes one to know one,
He said. She said.
Ripping words
High-A-Pitch yells
Molded personalities
I’m sorry I failed
Unlucky
Arrogant
Unworthy
Takes one to know one,
He said. She said.
6 feet under
Now embraced by the dirt
An unheard sorry
But it didn’t hurt
The curdling stench
It’ll fertilize the soil
He gave away her life
For a tree… how loyal.
Takes one to know one,
He said. She said.
