Illusion

I've been on the run
for as long as I can remember
looking out for that illusion
holding out for that illusion you call "life"

And a young girl cries
as her lover lies
long stemmed roses, while innocence dies
oh baby, please
dance with me one last time
as the graveyard sings our song
and baby, please
hold me one last time
as the night turns to dawn

Fallen angels at my feet now
the dark goddess, death at my door
the beauty in your eyes
lost to me once more
and what to do?
tell me please
what's left for me?
lost in the shadows of the night

I've been on the run
for as long as I can remember
looking out for that illusion
holding out for that illusion you call "life"
