Come take a walk

Come take a walk with me
down a simple street
where we live.
The houses are similar sort of Tudor in style.
Some have neat gardens
And some are quite wild.
Driveways and hedges
Down most of these roads,
And a few shops at the bottom,
Selling, you know…. papers and loafs.

A gentle drone of traffic noise
Fills the air with suburban joys,
Of sound and life
In this small place
Between the trees
A leafy pace.

West of London
To Harrow spire
We walked away
To lovingly admire.
This broad view we can still see the hills
In amongst the neighbors daffodils.

Lets return
Go left at the lights
Walk past the shop that sells motorbikes.
And right at the lane
Where the fence was removed
And over that hill where they’ve sprayed something rude.
Across the bridge
And through the park
Up that street
And back to the start.
